First of all, thank you!
Hello to all my wonderful couples!
First of all - thank you. Thank you for trusting me to capture such an important and beautiful chapter in your lives. It means the world to me to be a part of your wedding day, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
As my business sometimes includes both photography and videography, the editing workload can be a little heavier than for photographers who focus solely on one. Each wedding is carefully edited by me - nothing is outsourced - because I want to ensure that every image and every clip reflects the exact style and feel that you chose when you booked me.
Below, you’ll notice that progress is a little further along on some photography-only weddings. That’s simply because photo editing is generally quicker, and I often work on images during the evenings. Video editing, by nature, takes a bit more time and focus. That said, I promise each film and photo gallery receives the same love, care, and attention to detail.
Here’s a quick look at the workflow so you can see where your project might be in the process:
PHOTOGRAPHY WORKFLOW
- Photograph your wedding and back up all images the same day I get home.
- Cull the gallery - removing images with closed eyes, missed focus, or just not up to standard.
- My wife then reviews the culled gallery and flags any photos needing extra Photoshop attention (e.g., removing exit signs, dress marks, or even the occasional cat litter tray!).
- Apply my custom preset to begin the editing process.
- Crop and fine-tune each image - usually just minor tweaks like straightening lines or enhancing composition.
- Export all images and back them up.
- Upload your gallery online.
- Send you the link via email so you can relax with a takeaway, pop some champagne, and relive your big day!
VIDEOGRAPHY WORKFLOW
- Film your wedding and back up all footage the same day.
- Cull the footage - removing clips with unnecessary movement or moments that don’t add to your story.
- Edit the ceremony and speeches, syncing them with professional audio.
- Begin crafting your highlight films - this is the most time-consuming step and requires full focus, so I take my time to get into the flow and do it justice.
- Apply my cinematic LUT (similar to a photo filter) for that signature film look.
- Export and back up your videos.
- Upload to your online gallery.
- Send you the link so you too can enjoy your takeaway, champagne, and cinematic wedding memories.
Thank you again for your patience - it truly means so much. I’m working through the list as quickly (and carefully) as possible, and you’ll see it getting shorter and shorter over the coming weeks.
