Their moments. Captured
This is an online workshop focused on helping you confidently capture both photography and videography on a wedding day - while also feeling more relaxed and in control during couple portraits
Capturing both photography and videography on a wedding day completely changed my business.
I filmed my first wedding back in 2018, and since then my bookings - both for weddings and commercial work - have grown massively. Adding video opened doors I honestly didn’t expect at the time
In September 2025, Neil Redfern and Helen Williams kindly invited me to teach at SHINE 5 to attendees how I capture both photography and videography on a wedding day. I’m excited to now bring that presentation to a one-day online workshop, where you can learn from the comfort of your own home or office
During the workshop, I’ll walk you through the techniques I use to seamlessly integrate video into an existing photography workflow — without missing key moments or compromising on quality.
We’ll cover things like:
- The ideal equipment and camera settings for hybrid shooting
- Behind-the-scenes footage from real weddings, alongside the RAW files
- How I edit & create Instagram Reels that actually generate leads. These techniques are also used for my Highlight Films
- How I run my business and sell hybrid coverage to couples and commercial clients
- Simple, effective ways to pose couples and get great results in a short amount of time
My hope is that by the end of the workshop, you’ll feel confident using these ideas to push your business even further — and feel excited about the future, not intimidated by it.
Rough Timetable
10:00
I’ll start with a quick introduction so you can get to know me a little better, including a look at some of my very first wedding photos and videos. From there, I’ll walk you through the equipment I use on a wedding day and explain how I capture both photos and video smoothly and efficiently
11:00
I’ll break down how I use different frame rates to my advantage, along with how I approach video exposure and composition, so everything looks intentional, polished, and true to the moment
12:00
We’ll break for lunch, but I’ll keep the stream running so anyone who wants to can hang out and eat together. It’s a great time to chat, ask questions, and go over anything we’ve covered so far in a more relaxed way
12:45
We’ll walk through a typical wedding day, starting with raw footage from both groom and bridal preparations. I’ll also share behind-the-scenes moments from the ceremony and show you how I capture everything in both photo and video as the day unfolds
13:30
I’ll take you through my post-wedding workflow and show you how I turn all those clips into short Instagram Reels that often start generating enquiries just days after the wedding. I’ll also share how I run my Instagram and walk you through my video editing process in Adobe Premiere Pro
14:30
Posing is something I get great feedback on, especially when it comes to helping couples feel relaxed and comfortable on their wedding day. I’ll share real examples and, with my wife Gwyn joining me in the kitchen, walk you through some of the poses I use and the simple prompts I give my brides and grooms to keep everything feeling natural
15:30
We’ll wrap up with an open “ask me anything” session that lasts for the final hour and beyond if needed. You can ask about how I shoot ceremonies, speeches, the dance floor, or anything else you’re curious about
16:00
We’ll finish up the workshop, recap what we’ve covered, and wrap things up for the day
